IndiaFIRST™ NATIONAL ROBOTICS CHALLENGE

IndiaFIRST™ NATIONAL ROBOTICS CHALLENGE (IRC) has been announced. IRC will be conducted on Sunday, 15th February, 2015. Block your dates for the competition. Its going to be an exciting tournament with more than 50 nos. of School Teams participating in the competition.

In a very unique model, One Team is comprising of 10 nos. of students. These students will anoint a CEO, CFO and CTO among themselves. The rest of the team members will be responsible for fund raising and operational progress.

These students will be trained by Mentors. Each team can have maximum 2 nos. of mentors. Parents, Teachers, Engineering Students, or anyone with an eye on Engineering and keen to transfer the knowledge to students can be become a mentor. Needless to say that the Mentor will have to spend time during his/her spare time to train these students. It will be the responsibility of the Mentor to train the students in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and IT Programming. Ofcourse, the Mentor shall receive FREE training
from IRC for 4 days on the above Robotics concepts as well as assembly of the Robot using sensors, gears, grippers, micro controller and even the programming of the Robot.

Last date for registration of Team is 25th November 2014.

Training of the mentors will start from 1st December 2014.

How to Participate in the IndiaFIRST™ NATIONAL ROBOTICS COMPETITION?

Students and the Mentors shall get about 2 months for training and strategising for the competition. Competition shall be played in Alliance format. Alliance of 2 teams shall compete with the Alliance of other 2 Teams. Alliance partners shall be announced at the time of competition. Hence, they will get only about 10 minutes to know each other and discuss technical as well as field strategy.

Our last competition which was held in Pune at the Balewadi Stadium received unprecedented support and response from Academia, Industry as well Students, Parents and Schools.

How to make a robot?

Everyone is thrilled at the prospect of making a robot. It is very important to understand what goes in the making of a robot. One must understand the basics of Electronics, Mechanical, IT Programming and Electrical. Just to elaborate each of the engineering functions for the sake of clarity, I am listing below the details:
Electronics: This is the hardware part of the robot which is used for controlling the robot through programming. It consists of Micro Controller board, Micro Processor, Sensors, Wireless equipment of IR, RF and Bluetooth, Controllers, etc.
Mechanical: The body of the robot is very important and it is designed based on the application. Designing the body and shape of the robot is amongst the first task the robot builder has understand. Body Parts, Screws, Nuts, Bolts, Gears, Grippers, Scissor Lift, Fork Lift are very important mechanical parts one must understand.
IT Programming: This one of the most crucial part of robotics or automation. Once must have good command over programming the Robot. Programming is done in various languages. The young starters can even start programming through popular graphical user interface languages such as Scratch or WildFIRE UI. For advance users, Arduino is very popular. Its an open source programming language used in automation industry.
Electrical: Such is the power of electrical component that your robot wont start without them. Battery, Switches, Connectors, Wires would come within the electrical ambit.

The picture above shows you the different parts used in making Robot on academic scale.

Now that we know the basics of robotics, understand the application for which the robot will be used. Plan the design of the robot using a CAD/CAM software. Creo 2.0 is one the best designing software which allows you to design each part seperately and assemble them as per your application within the software. Hence, you don't need to actually make the assembly by hand before your prototype design is not finalised. This helps you to save your time and also allows you to try out a number designs.

At IndiaFIRST Robotics Academy, we teach you all of the above in detail and get the models made from you with expert guidance. You may call us on +91 20 25650404 / 02 for more details.

IndiaFIRST Robotics Summer Camp 2015

Summer Vacations are approaching and parents, as always, wants to engage their children in some fruitful activity this summer to prepare them for future. We have been receiving several requests to start Summer Camp on Robotics. The requests were also loaded with Pick up and Drop requirements. Given the traffic in Pune, its really cumbersome for parents to travel everyday to drop the children for summer camp.

IndiaFIRST Robotics Academy has now launched Summer Camp 2015 on Robotics with Pick and Drop facility. We have designed the summer camp to suit students as well as parents requirements. Students in the age group of 8 yrs. to 18 yrs. are welcomed to join the Summer Camp. They will learn the basics of Electronics, Electrical, IT Programming and Mechanical which are required to build a Robot.

IndiaFIRST Robotics being manufacturers of these World Class modular robots, have designed these robots to facilitate creative and innovative thinking using project based problem solving methodology. Making a Robot means understanding the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to make it work for you. Once the students understands the making of robot, they develop a great sense of achievement. Here, while designing and assembling robots, students are faced with several mechanical problems which they learn to overcome and resolve on their own, helping them to understand how to solve problems on their own in the right possible manner.

Till now, we have trained more than 10,000 students from all over India. Our training center network is increasing Pan India and getting excellent response from parents as well as academia.

We invite Parents and Students to visit our office at HABIB ANIMATOS PVT. LTD., 4th Floor, Shreenidhi Chambers, Opp. Passport Office, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune - 411016 for watching the demonstrations of the Robots and understanding the importance of learning Robots.

Alternatively, you can write back to on vinaykumar@habibanimatos.com or call on +91 9822058338 to discuss.
